Welcome Michele!

Hi everyone! I've popped in this evening to announce our newest Mix It Up Challenge Blog design team member! Please join me in welcoming Michele to our mixed up challenge blog! Michele's blog is Whimsical Creations and I know you're going to love what you see! We're thrilled she's joining us and she's going to be an amazing asset to our team!

So without further ado, here's our new teammie, Michele...

I have been married to Jim for 27 years; we have three children, two girls and one boy. We live in a very small community - think 700 people, counting our dog, we jump up to 701. :D I used to be able to say we stay very busy with all kinds of sports, but our last one is finishing high school so come Fall 2019, we will officially be empty-nesters! 

I originally began scrapbooking when I had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom for two years a long, long time ago. Somewhere along the line, I discovered the immediate gratification of stamping a card and I was hooked; haven't looked back since...and um, haven't touched those scrapbooks either although I do dabble a bit in Project Life and at least keep up somewhat on those memories!

I did return to work after those two years off, and let's be honest, I'm just a better wife, mom, friend, you-name-it when I'm working. I am a full-time executive assistant working for the man known as the Father of Extended Stay (think Residence Inn, Summerfield Suites, Candlewood Suites - he created all those); we stay very busy and I relish my job. But to keep me sane, I enjoy paper crafting, reading, music and exercising. 

As far as my style, I've never been very good at clean & simple; I tend to like lots of layers or go all out with mixed-media creations. I love coloring with Copics and adding depth and shading with pencils - in fact, I love coloring with Copics on watercolor paper. Yes, I realize its meant for watercoloring, but that's something I'm still practicing! Hi everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Welcome back to the Mix It Up Challenge Blog! Thanks to everyone who played with us in last month's "Anything Goes + No Stamping" challenge! We absolutely loved seeing all your awesome creations! The design team has a tough job ahead of them but be sure to check back on the 5th of this month for our Winners and Top Picks!
